Sjardo Steneker, MD With nearly three decades as a medical doctor, Sjardo L. Steneker, MD, brings his broad range of Family Medicine and Urgent Care skills to Steneker Family Medicine in Normandy Park, Washington. After earning his medical degree from the Catholic University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands, Dr. Steneker headed to Washington State for his Family Medicine residency training which he completed at Swedish Hospital Medical Center in Seattle. Since then Dr. Steneker garnered years of experience as a clinician and director of busy local practices. Almost 10 years ago he was certified to prescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine) for the treatment of opioid dependency, often a problem for patients who have chronic pain. As a Family Medicine provider, Dr. Steneker enjoys caring for every family member, from newborn infants to grandparents. He is well-known in the community for his compassionate bedside manner and for spending time getting to know his patients. They express appreciation that he is thorough in his assessments and that he educates them about what’s happening with their bodies, including medically complex issues. His goal isn’t simply to treat medical conditions; he also likes to educate patients how to prevent disease and maintain good health.
